@itscassieblanko: does anyone elses special needs son hate waiting too? 😭 for context, he wanted me to go upstairs with him while he take a bath, but I was finishing something downstairs & that triggered a meltdown. For autistic children, waiting can be harder bc of things like difficulty understanding time, needing predictability, trouble shifting attention away from something they want, communication challenges, sensory overload, & difficulty regulating big emotions. If they don’t know how long they’re waiting or what happens next, the uncertainty itself can become overwhelming. #autismawareness #specialneeds
