we did this last summer and out boat broke down in the bay and we had to get towed by a tiny but might tug boat. we had such a good time tho watching navy dolphin training. luckily everyone on our boat and our captain and guide was AMAZING so it made for a great trip. Definitely do the tour!

Tip: never pay for the jab or cruises that charge 60+ to go around the bay, under the bridge and back - instead pay (I think) 7$ for a round tip ferry pass to Coronado and back. You are on the water as long as you would be in a harbor cruise but you can hop off on Coronado side to have a drink or bite to eat right next to where ferry takes you and then jump back on to go back. The ferry’s come every 15m or so . Plan it so you’re out there at sunset!
