I love alice, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I don't think she was actually qualified for the head coach position. being a head coach means having an understanding of different personalities and how to work with them. Alice might have the game down but she's lacking the people skills and the fact that she was never considered for the position is likely more of a reflection of that lack of skill. and that is exactly what Ted is going to teach her and I'm thinking when he's done with her she will be ready to be a head coach

I've been a women football fan for a long time and these are all the issues we've heard actual players talk about. The pay inequality, poor training facilties, sexual misconduct, abuse of power, the epidemic of ACL injuries especially among women players. I'm so happy that the show is highlighting all these issues beyond just a remake of the issues the men faced in previous seasons. Women have real problems in this sport, they don't need to learn how to work together and look out for each other. They already know how to do that. There are a lot of opportunities to tackle more issues than we've seen in the last 3 amazing seasons. I'm so excited for what's to come.

It was real class that Ted made sure to give Keeley her full due that she was the one who fought for the improved women’s locker rooms AND free tampons (only a woman would have understood the innate pain of paying for biological necessities, esp as a female athlete)

[Spoilers ahead] I love that Rebecca still has more of an arc. She’s definitely happier overall than she was in S1, and still gets flustered, pushing herself to improve. And that Leslie tries to reality-check her assumption that the woman coach was criticizing her for being a bad feminist. It’s just feels very real.

I was SO worried she would be “Girl Roy”, and it’s very clear that: a) she has so much more joy and whimsy than s1 Roy did, and b) she already knows exactly who she is and what future she wants. I’m so happy to see how great her dynamic with Ted and Beard is in ep 3.
