No. 3: i’ve been working with AI for the past year, and never has it given me the output I wanted. It always has to be reviewed. either it’s code, and certainly if it’s a presentation, it never hits my targets. It might hit the target for mediocre output, but not for what I need. It’s not good enough. Make it the highest effort on ChatGPT, Claude or any other AI, I really don’t understand how you guys think that output is good enough. Just ask it to prepare any kind of presentation, which you can present flawlessly to an audience. Just doesn’t work.

From my experience, AI can handle only tactical tasks, it is not strategic nor good at decision making. It also still makes plenty of mistakes though over time it does learn. It’s like a junior associate or assistant at best.

My prediction and its just me. AI output will platue in future. atm we are still at the stage of companies finding the ROI and realizing there was just tradeoffs i.e. faster code generation, but no quality gates. proudcts get shipped but has a problem with distribution. alot of companies do not realize this/or ignore it in exchange for badge of being an AI first organization

Why is AI being shoved down our throats. It’s just another piece of content to talk about. And why is no one looking to the future where everyone becomes complacent because they can’t function without AI? It’s the game with Gen Z and social media - lacking social skills and emotions.

9-5 is for hourly staff. 10 hours/day minimum if you want an executive role, and expect to work 12-14 hours/day at crunch times

One can list which tasks are needed and associate that task to the appropriate level of AI. This way, every task is not given or spending the same amount of tokens. More thoughtful and involved tasks would use a higher level of AI while the smaller more mundane tasks can use a lower level of AI. As most work is a lower level just done at a high frequency, it will allow your tokens to be extended until the reset thereby leaving your AI on a continuous token loop.

but also, are people really thoroughly reviewing and confirming every output is accurate with the right sources and data and context? bc the problem with increased automation is that we have very human limits to our ability to fact check everything when a system is programmed to make it look convincingly accurate (ie fabricated data point that is otherwise logical buried in a 30 page slide deck- then during the board presentation, your credibility is on the line)

I think that your prediction depends on industry. AI will affect all of us for sure, but depending on industry I think that stomach will go to the phone while others will still use laptops and devices, depending on the industry

Eh, disagree. For something to break the 9-5 cycle, a societal narrative shift would need to take the place in employment marketplaces. And folks are “so tied” to the existing structure, it would take rewriting the laws of the land to break that. No, what I actually see happening is probably companies doing the 9-5 thing and ALSO expecting continuous output. Sad but true. All it takes is one or two hyper productive folks to ruin a company towards ai-centered pacing. And without guardrails that’s a very fragile posture in the best cases. Regarding the phone thing replacing laptops, it would have to happen meaningfully across all industries. And at least in tech, screen size matters. You need enough to meaningfully design across at least 2 different apps at a time for any meaningful referential analysis work.

My prediction for next year: Setting up AI agents will be as easy as writing an email. Platforms like copilot or AWS will provide this infra. Yes, we might not need a desktop for this. The connections between agents will be seamless.
