Using a debit card opens up your checking account to hackers. Credit cards are backed by companies that will fight unauthorized purchases. Also, there’s a limit that a hacker can access.

I didn’t get my first credit card until I was 35😭 I had no credit and I’m currently working on building credit. I had my daughter get a credit card at 18 with her bank and I pay it off every month. She doesn’t work, she’s still in school. She has a small student loan that I pay on every month just because it helps her credit. She currently has two credit cards and a very high credit score!
