Ive never understood lemon juice to breaks rubber bands, like I just use an eyebrow razor and push down light and it cuts them right in half... like why dry out your hair

I've never tried the rubber band method. Everytime I try to twist my son's hair it comes undone if they go swimming or after a while. do you put anything on the ends? do you do wash days in the 4 weeks? 🧐✍🏾 lastly I couldn't completely tell. do you retwist damp? Im trying to not use heat on my kids hair. my mom destroyed my hair with relaxers, chemicals, and heat so I'm learning how to treat natural hair for me and my boys. appreciate any advice🥹🙏🏾
