Depends on the cam but the 3800 definitely puts you in the power!

Tight and loose don’t really have much to do with the stall speed. I have 5000 stall nitrous converter that’s actually a tight converter. A loose converter would actually allow me to driver straight through the converter on launch

Torque and cam size, that is how you pick a converter. 3000 stall behind a 351W was great, 25~2800 launches, good times had by all. Not so much behind a 302. In fact, I had to put a 4000 behind the 302 to launch at the same rpm as the 351W/3000 set up. While the 4000 acted like a normal converter in town/highway, said 4000 stalled/slipped/whatever at low rpm behind a 347. In short, 2500 converter is not the end all street performance converter, your combination dictates your actual stall speed.

That’s not a matter of tight or loose. That’s a matter of not having enough converter. Your “loose” converter sounds like it could be “looser” also
