My English teacher in HS made us write whole essays in 45-55 minute classes by hand. We’d get a packet of printed sources to pick from and a prompt and go from there. Best exercise ever, hated it at the time, but SO glad I got that in my education.

My mentor used to highlight words in their work that he knew they did not know and make them write what it ment. 9/10 times they admitted that they did not know it and it ai.

A simple question to the child: “you won’t explain it later, you explain it now.”. Later means they’ve come up with a strategy that usually works to avoid accountability. Put them on the spot. If they know their stuff, they’ll tell you.

people these days always forget that A.I. is a TOOL FOR ASSISTING IN/REDUCING WORK. It is not meant to replace nor eliminate work, only optimize the process.

If you use AI at least like re-read it and if there’s anything you don’t understand then ask it to explain. Like if you cheat cheat well. read the paper before submitting it

I had a student swear over and over that their work wasn't AI, until I read them a paragraph that said "As a large language model, I find it hard to..." 🤣
