A massive vortex formed in the center of the water, growing wider and faster by the second. The current became a gigantic whirlpool, dragging boats, debris, and everything near it toward its center. The pilots immediately tried to climb. Both helicopters fought against the violent turbulence, engines screaming as they attempted to escape the growing vortex. But something was pulling them down. The whirlpool expanded beneath them, creating a terrifying spiral of black water stretching across the entire river. One helicopter suddenly drops. The second follows. The crew watches helplessly as the aircraft are dragged toward the center of the vortex. Then— THE RIVER EXPLODES. An enormous wall of water blasts upward. Something massive rises from beneath it. At first, it looks like a distorted human figure. Then the cameras focus. A subhuman, skeletal creature emerges from the flood — impossibly tall and unnaturally thin, its pale blue-grey skin appearing almost corpse-like beneath the storm.
