With any avoidant rather that being the fearful avoidant or dismissive avoidant, you have to do reverse psychology. When they deactivate and randomly ghost, pull back, or say they no longer want to see you, you simply sit back and agree. They expect you to chase. But that’s the last thing you need to do is put more pressure on the individual.. You simply say I understand your perspective (even when you don’t) and let them know that what they are doing is best for them. Don’t teach out. Don’t watch a story. Don’t like a post. Don’t unfollow. Literally do nothing. They will be back in 2-4 weeks. And before someone comments that their avoidant never reached back out. Either A. That person really isn’t even an avoidant and you just slapped a label on somebody for comfort and closure on your end. OR B. You were not with that person long enough to establish any type of real feelings on their end. Feelings and closeness is what pushes an avoidant away.
