@all.eyes.collective: Im a gardener in Tacoma WA. This year the powdery mildew hit my cucumbers and tomatoes very early in the season. But i learned a trick last year on tiktok to prevent powdery mildew. So i had to try it and share my results. Its a very easy, cheap and low impact method thats really made a difference for me this year. Apparently the bacteria in milk fights off the cause of powdery mildew! So spraying your plants with watered down milk helps kill and prevent powdery mildew from forming. I like to use a 50/50 mix of water and milk. mixed in a hand pump spray bottle, any spray bottle should work. I make sure to spray the top and bottom of leaves, the plant stem, and anywhere you see PM. I try to do it a couple times a week but it doesn't seem like you can over do it. The milk doesn't draw any bugs or pests. And dries on the leaves. Its been working wonders for me this year. super easy so give it a try! I plan om doing a lot more gardening content with my wifey @DREA 💕 in our garden. Stay tuned and thanks for watching. #powderymildew #gardentips #pnwgarden #homegarden #gardeningtips
I’m nearby in Puyallup. The powdery mildew is really bad this year. It is taking out a lot of my squash and peas. Never had it this early. I’ll have to try this milk method. Thanks

I use hydrogen peroxide. It breaks down to just water (so completely plant & animal safe) but also kills molds. 1/2c peroxide to 1 gal water. I spray it on everything.

Im a fellow PNW gardener (just a little closer to Seattle) have you noticed a sour milk smell or anything. That had been my only concern when I’d seen this suggested. I did the beer traps for slugs this year not realizing beer smells horrible after a few days in the sun. Sit was disgustingly LOL. My Dahlias are starting to get some powdery mildew so I may have to try it this weekend. Happy gardening! Love to local garden videos.
