I retired from the Lincoln June 2024 and if I were still there, I would just deal with it and try to make life as comfortable for my Sailors to the best of my ability. It isn’t an ideal situation and I know it sucks, but sometimes we have to do things that we don’t want to, but it has to be done.

Navy vet 96-00. The longest I did was 63 days without touching land. I can’t imagine what those sailors are going through mentally.

We had waaaaaay worse conditions in fallujah back in 2005. You’re talking about a deployment that’s going on 9 months, where they have food, water and a safe place to sleep. Yeah it sucks, but it’s not the end of the world. They will be fine.

You were listening to the hype from CNN. This is not real. The US Navy is the best at getting food and supplies and stores and whatever sailors need. There’s no military in the world that treats theirs better than ours does

Oh shut the front door 🚪 did 26 years they are doing okay does it suck yes but there is far worse deployments out there. An aircraft carrier is the safest place to be in a conflict hot food, air conditioner and rest. I served on 3 ships before I went a different direction in the navy. Served 13 months in Iraq and Afghanistan a few times no days off, missions every day, 3 to 4 hours of sleep. In other words life could be a lot worse for them.

Lincoln wife. This is called DEPLOYMENT. it’s not easy it’s the newer generations that are making this seem like end of the world. I talked to my husband, they’re not running out of food. They are in the Gulf, for all the complaining. You won’t hear about haz duty pay or that their pay is tax free. What everyone needs to understand is what you hear on the news. Is not always true. In 25 years the Lincoln has seen it all. My hubs was on the Lincoln all the way back to the bombing of the USS Cole. Radio silence for days. What the news reported to all Americans was not the truth. The hubs had the classified coms and then the coms were de classified. The truth was eye opening. Civilians are not privy to the military’s information.
