As far as I'm aware that noise is just the wizards performing their magic spells that keep the smoke on the inside. I'm a welder though so god only knows really.

That noise is because the steel laminations that make up the transformer core haven’t been tightened properly. Issue with a lot of new kit,sound should have been picked up in testing and the laminations sorted. A part of that noise is general electrical hum but that also means its running at high load. Considering I used to look after 2MW transformers and they never made that much noise at full load I’d say they installed the cheapest ,low spec transformer they could get hold of.
