once the rain is over an umbrella becomes a burden to everyone. when a blind man sees for the first time, one of the first things he may leave behind is the stick that guided him through life and when the Sun returns , the first things people extinguish is the candle that help them find their way through the darkness. That is how loyalty ends when benefits stop. some people remember you only for the comfort you provided, the problem you solved and the support you gave during their difficult seasons. they hold on to you when they need shelter but forget you when the storm has passed, they miss how useful you to them but never regret being the umbrella during someone's storm or the light during someone's darkness. your kindness was never wasted, it revealed your character not theirs. this is a great lessons.
