Bridgett, I met you back in 6th grade at Roosevelt Middle School. You were always with Allison, and even though people misunderstood you, I always felt like there was more to you than what they said. Once I got to know you, I realized you were really kind, caring, and someone who meant a lot to me.
When we first started talking, I was really happy. We ended up dating, and even though it didn’t last long, I never hated you for how it ended. Later I found out you started liking someone else and chose to break up with me instead of cheating, and I respect that. It probably wasn’t easy, but you were honest.
For the next three years, I never really stopped liking you. Every time I saw you in the hallways, I would look away or act like I didn’t notice you because I was too nervous. I dated other people, but it never felt the same because a part of me still wished it was you. When freshman year started and I walked into 7th period, seeing you again felt unreal. It was like all the memories came back at once. I would get nervous every time I walked into class, just hoping I didn’t look weird before you saw me. I always thought you were smart, funny, and strong, but I was still scared to talk to you because I thought you didn’t like me.
I’m really glad Jairo gave you my Snapchat because it gave us a chance to talk again. Talking to you again honestly made me really happy. I liked all the small moments we had—laughing, messing around in class, and just being around you. I also liked that you were always yourself. You never tried to be someone else. I’ll never forget November 20, 2025. When Jairo told me you liked me back, I was so nervous to ask you out. After I sent the message, I literally threw my phone because I was freaking out. When I found out you said yes, I was the happiest I’ve ever been. I even cried a little because I couldn’t believe it was real. The eight months we had together were the happiest months I’ve had. I’ll always remember making you a Valentine’s basket, and I’ll never forget you surprising me with one too. No one had ever done something like that for me before, and I remember crying when I got home because it meant so much. I’m really thankful I
