Why would one insist upon reading the Bible solely as a static text, rather than discerning its meaning in light of the times and circumstances in which its foretold events unfold? To recognize when prophecy is being fulfilled requires not merely knowledge of Scripture, but wisdom and discernment

God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son was a test of faith, which led to multiple blessings, and also foreshadowing in the sense that God provided a lamb to Abraham after stopping him and still provides another lamb to humanity(Jesus Christ) who dies for the sake of man and restores humanity by faith. it has nothing to do with actually wanting kids because he is obviously against it (humans till date sacrifice their kids to Baal and God has been against it since those times)

I came across a text explaining that God and Yahweh are not the same persons. Yahweh is adamant on only him being worshipped indicating the presence of other gods. Yahweh is also a God of war and around the time they use that name to refer to the 'most high', is when God got more harsh/ violent with his 'punishment' on humans. in short, the names used through out the bible don't refer to the same god . Different gods wanted different things which looks similar hence the current confusion in Christianity.

I’m a believer and honestly speaking the Old Testament was fucked up but one thing that is constant was His mercy anytime those bad things happened the mercy was shown.The Old Testament had the law and the law was accusing us and it’s stated if you do this , this will happen but through God’s love and Grace he gave us his son who took our sins and the law accused him(Jesus) and according the law he was to die…wages of sin his death, through Christ’s death and through faith we have His righteousness and so we are not under the law rn , it can’t accuse us because we are under grace.We’ve only been commanded to love, even the 10 commandments consists of only love;love to God and love to human beings so the only commandments guiding us is love.😊this is how I understand it

I questioned a lot too. I doubt if there's anyone who understands the bible fully .it has a lot of contradictions. as a Christian who's not ready to lose her faith I chose this verse " ...love your neighbor as you love yourself. " and the story of good Samaritan

this is usually a question that I ask people and I receive backlash for it....the Bible is one whole book sindioo..why shouldn't you act according to the rules given in the old testament because frr if you believe in the Trinity ...Jesus and God are the same person.It just doesn't make sense to me when someone tells me that ooo sijui New Covenant...basi si the Old testament wouldn't have been published like it's just a curious thought also msinikujie

It only shows human nature is flawed and changeable! That's just my opinion, I take the book as a script of human nature, if we are made in his image, and the book is his word, it only makes sense! Because all of us have once lived the old testament way, where we were strict of every step we take, can't break code for anything. Then we learn, and enter the new testament, where we know we are also unknowing us much as we know, and hence we allow ourselves more grace and kindness! Case in point, some people will still know you and want to judge you with your old self, because like the old testament, those are non negotiable traits they experienced or were told of you, they don't know you by the ones they are yet to experience or see. Let me land, people do not study or read the bible for themselves ,they are taught the bible, and will be taught the narrative that fits the teachers reality.
