@panzer_kampf_wagen02: The Boeing Hard Mobile Launcher (HML) was a mobile, radiation-hardened transporter-erector-launcher developed during the Cold War to carry and launch the U.S. Air Force’s MGM-134A Midgetman small intercontinental ballistic missile. Designed by Boeing and Goodyear Aerospace, the eight-wheel-drive HML emphasized survivability through both mobility and protection against nuclear blast effects. It could travel on roads at speeds of up to 55 mph and operate off-road, while a trailer-mounted plow could help bury the launcher for additional protection. The Air Force selected the Boeing-Loral design for further testing, with vehicles undergoing trials through 1991. However, the end of the Cold War led to cancellation of the Midgetman program in 1992, so the HML never entered operational service.
