💡 Present Perfect Simple vs Present Perfect Continuous with FOR and SINCE! 🇬🇧 Both tenses can describe actions that started in the past and continue NOW, but there’s a difference! ✅ Present Perfect Simple Have/has + past participle “I’ve lived here for 5 years.” “I’ve known her since 2020.” We often use this for states, situations and things we want to describe as a whole. ✅ Present Perfect Continuous Have/has + been + verb-ing “I’ve been working for 5 hours.” “She’s been studying since 9 am.” We often use this to emphasise the activity, its duration or the fact that it’s been ongoing. 💡 Remember: FOR = a period of time For two hours, for three days, for a decade. SINCE = the starting point Since Monday, since 2020, since 9 am. ⚠️ Sometimes BOTH tenses are possible! “I’ve worked here for 10 years.” “I’ve been working here for 10 years.” Both are correct! The continuous form puts more emphasis on the ongoing activity. Save this for your next English lesson! ✅ #learnenglish #englishclass #englishteacher #speakenglish #BritishEnglish
