Does FNB allow the extra payment to be put into the bond account ? we were told that there's another sort of 'pot' it goes into which does not affect the bond but rather as an access for the extra....Is this correct or how can we ensure that the extra payment does positively affect the total repayment duration ? what are the right questions to ask the bank ?

Does it have to be one extra payment per year? What if one can afford to make 3/4 more payments? Would it drop that to <10 yrs and would the interest also go down?

My first bond to be settled soon, I only paid it for not more than 4 years... second bond I'll add a year extra to settled in 5 years.... One need to give right directions to where money should go 🚶♂️
