I had an Aunt Plum (her maiden name was Plumley, I didn’t learn her real name was Carol until I was an adult). She had a deep smoker’s rasp and I always called her Uncle Plum, and she loved it so much that the whole family adopted it. (To be clear, I never thought she was a man, I guess my child brain just thought her voice required an Uncle title.) It made my Southern family seem super progressive in the 80s and 90s when I’d tell people I was going to visit my Uncle Plum and Uncle Jeff for Christmas. 🤣

My youngest sister inherited my grandmother's Austrian accent and was raised speaking German, and the first time she tried to say 'puppy' in English, it came out as Poopy, so now my aunt who brought the dogs over is known as Aunt Poopy and none of us have the heart to correct her because she's 4 🥺
