The biggest mindfuck was not feeling safe in my own mind. ERP therapy was truly life changing. Mind is safe now, hope this helps someone

Listen, I’ve done this since I was 5 years old, I’m the LeBron James of OCD these days (this isn’t a brag), I’ve seen every angle of it but the positive spin is that there are no more angles to see. If you can put the foot in the door of your loops with radical acceptance, you’ll bust this thing wide open. I believe in you, because you are me.

Legit turn it into ur superpower. Sounds harsh, maybe it is. That’s what I did. Make rituals around getting shit done. Start small, scale up. It’ll eventually go away

My oura ring is constantly in stressed because of my thoughts. I’ll be fine for 2 seconds then another “but what if this” or “look it up one more time just to see”

Harm OCD here. It’s a hard journey, but I’m happy I can say I’m in a much better place than I was two years ago when it started.

OCD is a “noticing” of the truly wild power of the human mind. 99% of people mercifully never have to face this realization. Now OCD is a liar, to be sure, but only because most sufferers have a tendency toward fear and guilt. I believe that humanity is evolving in the way that we perceive and interact with our reality and OCD is the earliest of those growing pains. It’s not telling you truths. It’s showing you how much stronger we can become.

It’s indescribable to someone who hasn’t felt that. The thing I am the most terrified of is my own mind and it’s with me every second I am alive.

I think I have pure o ocd … it’s so bad. I’ve repeatedly convinced myself to cancel psych evaluations because I think they won’t actually figure out what’s wrong with me. I want help, but my mental health is literally keeping me from getting help. I was an addict for years because it was the only thing that shut my brain up. It’s been over 7 years being clean. But I’m so close to going back to it because every year I get worse.

This year actually 💔. May 5th at age 37 years old. What started as a normal day at work, I suddenly had a disturbing intrusive thought. Tried to get rid of it but couldn’t. Now I’m 3 months in and the thought is 24/7. I’ve finished 36 rounds of TMS which didn’t help, had my hormones tested, did an EEG brain scan, got on SSRI’s, have two ERP therapists and am starting with a new therapist for suspected PTSD, etc. NEVER in my wildest nightmares did I think something like this would happen to me. Especially this late in my life with no real cause. It’s been absolute torture and the most devastating thing in the world.
