@drdavidmorris: Can your ferritin look normal even if something is off? Ferritin, iron deficiency, inflammation, chronic fatigue, hair loss, low energy, CRP, iron studies, transferrin saturation, functional medicine, and root cause health are all important factors when evaluating how someone feels. Many people assume ferritin only reflects iron storage. However, ferritin can also be influenced by inflammation. This is why healthcare professionals may consider multiple markers together rather than relying on a single result. When symptoms such as fatigue, feeling cold, low energy, or exercise intolerance persist, additional context may help create a more complete picture. Understanding the relationship between inflammation and iron markers can lead to better conversations about health. 👉If symptoms continue despite normal lab results, consider discussing a more comprehensive evaluation with your healthcare provider. 💬Have you ever been told your labs were normal while your symptoms said otherwise? #Ferritin #IronDeficiency #Inflammation #Fatigue #HealthTok #FunctionalMedicine #RootCauseHealth #murfreesboro #functionalmedicine #magnoliamedicalcenter #rootcause #fyp #viral

I had 5 doctors tell me no need to test my ferritin since iron and hemoglobin were normal. I ordered the lab on my own and found it was low.

That's exactly how they caught one of my PMBCL symptoms in the early stages (anemia), which helped land the diagnosis!

Can you explain why a transferrin saturation level is needed in this the context to get to a better understanding of what’s happening?
