This is a misconception, YOU ANT SEE BLACK HOLES, they don’t emit light, they absorb it. You wouldn’t know if you fell in and also if you did there are levels to a black hole, you only get sucked in if you’re close. The only indication of a black hole is a slight light warping effect but it would be so dark you probably couldn’t see
