A note regarding what you wrote about Foucault. The conclusions you draw are merely an intermediary and a matrix for what is actually essential. Namely, the politicization of the body (youth, productivity, progress). Fascism made the body political - sovereign power by creating a certain ideal, and disciplinary power by producing productive bodies. Furthermore, mixing Foucault’s genealogical tradition with psychologized, vague concepts like xenophobia or romanticization of authority without referencing specific institutions and the processes of knowledge accumulation, renders this analysis fundamentally incomplete. As Foucault proves, the true stake of disciplinary power is not a lofty ideological spectacle, but micro-physics of power - institutional training rooted in knowledge-power, aimed at appropriating the biology of the population to fabricate docile and useful bodies, optimized machines primed for absolute subjugation and labor for the regime. Something that fascism became very good at, nearly as good as neoliberal societies.

all human constructs, though well intended, degenerate by corruption...human nature has an inherently dark side that no amount "goodwill" can overcome...

He was highkey extremely hypocritical and a coward considering how he lived his life. He chose not to have children, which was largely just virtue signaling if you asses his philosophy. He argued that being born was bad, and that the damage was already done, so commiting would solve nothing. That sounds like a rather stupid conclusion. You'd rather sit through slow pain than some short-term intense one. The anti-natalist stuff is also super stupid to apply to one self concering the negligable impact it has on the world's population, whilst making your current life less fulfilling, something that he would agree with. He should've also pushed for some form of accelerationism given his ideas, but for some reason thought such approach was bad too. Absolutely a mindless downgrade of Ted K

Cool post, would you say Zapffes stance of facism could apply to feudalism as well? Excluding the obvious economic differences and the lack of strictly enforced centralised power, they both operate on the idea of people having a place in society and purpose/meaning while idolising in subservience to the lords or king. Also ur other comment about fascism in its pure not existing, can it not be possible to have pure fascism which, not necessarily, but possibly includes those negatives?

Why do you think illusion of purpose is bad for the masses? I think, quite frankly, that it provides a clear consciousness for most people, a state-driven dedication is far more efficient (as you have stated) than an individual effort to seek out a purpose. I dont understand why pessimists talk badly about different coping mechanisms such as religion, communal ideologies, optimistic philosophies or organized authoritarian regimes, what is so inherently bad about this illusion? You seem educated enough, maybe we can discuss this in dms?
