@drbrucesloane: When you hear the words "aggressive prostate cancer," it can sound terrifying. But here's what men need to know: Aggressive prostate cancer means the cancer has a higher chance of growing and spreading. The good news? When caught early, it can often be treated successfully and even cured. That's why screening matters. Prostate cancer screening includes: ✔️ A PSA blood test ✔️ A digital rectal exam (DRE) Why both? Because occasionally prostate cancer can be found even when the PSA level looks normal. Early detection saves lives. Talk with your doctor about when prostate cancer screening is right for you. #philadelphiaurology #menshealth #prostatecancer #prostatehealth #preventativecare
11.62 PSA. Biopsy results came back with a Gleason score of 4+3. Have a PET scan in a week and in about 4 to 6 weeks I’m having my prostate removed. Very nervous

Re digital exam when PSA normal is correct. Had prosectomy 10 years ago. All is well. Others with radiation not so well.

I wouldn’t trust that non-aggressive statement. They’re not 100% sure. He said that like he was sure.😏

yes, not fun, look into implant right away, pills will not work, I couldn't tolerate injections, but implant works. Your penis will lose some length from the surgery,. just some upfront facts

In the summer of 2024, my PSA rose to 29 and within a month to 59.
Biopsy result: Gleason score 4+5 = 9, with 14 cores positive for carcinoma. PET-CT showed the disease had spread to my ribs, ischium, and iliac lymph node. In October 2024, I started treatment with Orgovyx and Xtandi.
After 6 months, my PSA dropped to 0. A follow-up PET-CT showed the complete disappearance of the disease, except for a small residual spot in the prostate and ischium. In June 2025, I underwent 20 sessions of targeted radiation therapy to the prostate.
Today, I am living life to the fullest. I continue taking my medication and go for monthly check-ups. Everything is looking good. The key is responding well to therapy. Be brave! I am 56 years old.
A fortunate circumstance is that Xtandi is fully covered by health insurance in Croatia, whereas in many other countries it unfortunately isn't and costs around €3,000 per month.
