Nobody would be eating a head of lettuce while walking down the street. It's mostly junk food because that is the convenient quick snacks that people buy and eat on the go. Proper meals don't come in convenience store packages.

I assume it's mostly because junk food has light packaging and people are more likely to eat it on the go. but the thing I find is much more heavily littered as cigarette butts..
