I was a math and computer science double major in college. I originally wanted to be an actuary but switched into Data Sciene and AI. My math degree allows me to understand the calculus and stats behind the algorithms that I use and my CS degrees allows me to program said algorithms.

mathematics is the language of science, real scientists must first study mathematics to understand what's going on! in other disciplines you learn how to solve a specific problem without knowing mathematics behind, if a new kind of problem arises yo won't be able to solve it without being good in mathematics. to my person I studied first mechanical engineering then mathematics and then computer science, mathematics PhD level
