@ohkaytacos: WARNING: graphic facial injury & neglect. Joan was ultimately dumped at the slaughter holding facility after she could no longer produce foals. She was given away, sent through multiple auctions, and finally ended up at the slaughter holding facility with a horrific facial wound. Instead of finding a truck to Canada, she was rescued by my wife Ally and the #colbyscrew team. Every single person involved from supporter to donor to staff member to vet played an important part in rescuing and rehabbing Joan, and we are excited to report she’s expected to make a full recovery and eventually be offered for adoption to the perfect home or kept safely in sanctuary for the rest of her life. Joan’s story has a happy ending because many people decided they could be the someone who could change her outcome and life. We can’t do this without those people making that decision over and over again. To selfishly do something good— to step up and step out for defenseless animals without a voice. You CAN be the change.
