@thesiltco: The 1998 JGTC season was serious time in motorsport. NISMO and the R33 GT-R walked the GT500 title with Comas and Kageyama, while the Team Taisan MR2 ran by Tsuchiya Engineering put on arguably the most dominant GT300 campaign the series has ever seen. Honda also took their first ever GT500 win that year at Fuji. The season was overshadowed though by the Fuji round 2 disaster where Tetsuya Ota's Ferrari drove into a stationary Porsche in torrential rain and caught fire. Shinichi Yamaji literally ran out of his car to pull him out. Ota had suffered severe 2nd and 3rd degree burns and was incredibly lucky to survive. And then Tachi, the GT300 champion, was killed testing at Aida the following March. Crazy year.
