when I went to Budapest in 22 I had to sit the whole emtire train ride 18h because it was to full and I didnt reserve seats. then in 23 I went again to Budapest. and it was h*ll. my first train was 1,5 hour late so I could not make my other trains. MIND YOU, I explicitly took the route where there was at least 2h layover each time. (luckily I had interrail so I could go with any train. But otherwise I would have been f*cked) and still did not make all my "planned" trains. also that year I did reserve seats, but because I could make my trains I wasnt able to make use of it. I even had to book a flixbus from Vienna to Budapest because I couldnt take the train to Budapest. my train arroved in Vienna at midnight and so I had to wait 5 hours in the trainstation surrounded by homeless people. amd then finally after a journey of 29 hours I arrived In Budapest. the way back was just as bad 34h no sleep, barely any food and to many issues. And I had to do it all By myself. So I learned I WILL NEVER GO INTERNATIONNALLY BY TRAIN!!! Especially DEUTSCHE BAHN!! 😭😭

no, I think its just you. the only time I had to seat on the floor in a train its when really NO SEAT in the whole train was available. and still I was on the floor like two stops, people come out and you take the seat
