@steven: There’s more sugar in your food than you think... 👀 If sugar is one of the first three ingredients, should we be treating that food more like a dessert? And one of the most surprising examples is orange juice, which can contain a similar amount of sugar to Coke. How closely do you actually read food labels? #health #sugar #nutrition #thediaryofaceo
Wtf. Natural sugars ARE COMPLETELY different than processed sugar.

I went down a food rabbit hole recently. I wanted a healthier drink than Mountain Dew. I quickly learned almost all our food is horrible for you. I drink water now.

If you let the rice and potato cool put fridge then reheat. The sugar decreases and is lower on the glycemic index by up to 50%

Added sugar is not the same in terms of how your body processes it with the nutrients.

Some of this isn’t accurate. Orange juice isn’t the same as drinking a coke. Juice has benefit and it sucrose vs an added sugar that we don’t respond well to. It’s not the best but some of this is just false.

Ok, but there is a huge difference between highly processed sugar cubes and sugar you find in fruit and veggies.

guinnessgeek :
the soda / orange juice comparison was off by one thing: most soda uses high fructose corn syrup, which the body doesn’t inherently know how to process. The orange’s sugar is natural, so the body will process it normally.

Are you trying to tell me the high fructose corn syrup in the soda is the same as natural raw sugar in orange juice, and at my body processes processed sugar the same natural raw sugar? Why am I not believing this??
