I used to work as an educator in an art museum and we had once piece by a Group of Seven member that was of the Alaska Highway. Though I have to admit I am not a huge Group of Seven fan I always was struck by the scale of A.Y. Jackson’s painting “Northern Lights, Alaska Highway” and how the army trucks were dwarfed by the landscape. He painted it in 1943.

I’ve always wanted to travel the Alaska highway. Back in thee day, I would often see a yellow bumper sticker: “I survived the Alaska highway” (something along those lines) I always wondered” how bad could it be? Thank you for taking us along!

My mom was a document server between northen BC, Alaska, and the Yukon back in the early 90s and I was her co pilot. So many good memories on this highway.
