Please be a smart and responsible human and follow fire safety rules when recreating outside. 🔥 Check local fire restrictions EVERY DAY. Restrictions can change quickly based on current conditions, including wind, heat, humidity, and overall fire danger. A campfire that was allowed last night might not be allowed tonight, so don’t assume the rules are the same for your entire trip. 🍳 Know the rules for your camp stove! Depending on where you’re camping, you may need a fire permit even to use a portable gas stove and during certain fire restrictions, some types of stoves may not be allowed. 💨 Pay attention to the wind even if fires are technically allowed. Embers can travel farther than you think. If it’s windy just don’t have the fire!! 🏕️ Use an established fire ring and clear away anything nearby that could catch fire. 👀 Never and I mean NEVER leave your fire unattended. 💧 Drown the heck out of it. Pour plenty of water over your fire, stir the ashes and coals, then add more water. It should be cool to the touch before you leave. 🧻 DON’T BURN TOILET PAPER. Pleeeeeease pack it out.
