Stephanie :
Keeping your body should never be about gaining society’s approval or preserving yourself as some kind of “reservation” for a future man especially in a society that often refuses to hold men accountable for sleeping around.
If you choose abstinence, sexual boundaries, or waiting until marriage, do it because it aligns with your values, your dignity, and, if you are a Christian, your relationship with God not because society tells you your body is something you must save for a man.
And abuse is not the only reason to leave a relationship. Infidelity is enough. So are repeated lies and deception, manipulation, controlling behavior, disrespect, emotional or psychological abuse, financial exploitation, constant humiliation, intimidation, addiction that someone refuses to address, refusal to take responsibility, deliberate isolation from family and friends, violation of boundaries, incompatibility in fundamental values, and consistently making you feel unsafe, unwanted, or diminished.
If a man repeatedly sleeps with other women, he is violating the commitment you made to each other and exposing you to emotional, sexual, and physical consequences you never consented to. From a Christian perspective, sexual intimacy is also described as becoming “one flesh,” so bringing outside sexual relationships which increases your spiritual body count. A man who sleeps around is not a respectable man.
You do not need to wait until someone destroys you before you are allowed to leave. A relationship is supposed to provide love, respect, safety, honesty, and mutual responsibility not require you to endure repeated harm just to prove that you are committed.
Stop giving people endless chances to disrespect you
