@doctorsethimd: #1 Nighttime GERD Tip From a Gastroenterologist ‼️👇 I tell my acid reflux patients this simple trick: avoid eating within 2–3 hours of bedtime, and try sleeping on your left side. Why? Lying down too soon after eating can make it easier for stomach acid to flow back into the esophagus. Sleeping on your left side and elevating the head of your bed by 6–8 inches can help reduce nighttime reflux and acid exposure. GERD and poor sleep can feed each other, reflux disrupts sleep, while sleep deprivation can make the esophagus more sensitive to acid. #acidreflux #guthealth #healthtok #gastroenterology #drsethi
