They don’t realise what Kurt did until Beast showed up. In no way did she “pass the buck” Kurt sacrificed himself for his SISTER because he loves her which is completely in character

I think you might need to rewatch the episode because Rouge clearly leaves and nightcrawler puts together on his own that Rouge gave something up so he goes to meet the celestial himself without her knowing about it. That’s why she’s clearly shocked and confused that she didn’t immediately die after saving gambit.

Did we see the same episode? Rogue left to go fight and save remy, planning to die after doing it. When she spoke about a sacrifice she was talking about herself until beast revealed kurt took her place. Kurts sacrifice also hits a lot more when you realise he didnt make a big show of it, he just loved his sister so much that he waited till she couldnt stop him and then he made the sacrifice. Thats what makes it such an amazing and sad death, he didnt make a grand gesture, he just did because he loved them

No hate at all, but I totally don't get how you interpreted it that way. Rogue was legitimately confused why she was still alive after the celestials powers were gone until she sees that Kurt isn't with Beast. She even hugs Kurt goodbye becuase she thought SHE was about to die. The Celestial is even confused by Kurt wanting to sacrifice himself isolate of his sister.

I will be honest, ive not watched the full episode yet but from the clips ive seen, it does seem like Kurt decided to sacrifice himself with rouge knowing, the way she seems a wee bit surprised when the celestial energy fades and she's still standing, I MIGHT BE WRONG AS IVE NOT WATCHED THE FULL EPISODE YET
