Walking into the Thomas Jefferson Building feels like stepping into another world. The marble, murals, mosaics, grand staircases, and incredibly detailed architecture make it easy to forget you’re standing inside a working library. We’ve been exploring some of America’s most important historic places for our America in 250 series, and this was definitely one of those stops that made us stop and look around. The Main Reading Room is the showstopper, but honestly, every corner of the building has something worth seeing. ✨ Pro Tip: Give yourself time to actually explore the building instead of just stopping for the famous photos. The architecture and artwork are the experience. 🇺🇸 It’s pretty incredible to think about how much of America’s history, ideas, and knowledge have passed through these walls.
