I like Usopp but my homegirl hated him since early on. She claims it’s cause he adds nothing to them team, and causes more harm than good. We still early on in the show so that might change.

Because they don't understand timing. Let's say, for sake of argument, that Dressrosa was Usopp's last great feat. That arc ended in 2015 for the manga and 2016 for the anime. So, depending on how you're consuming the story, it has been 10-11 years since Usopp did anything truly great, hence the argument, "It's been a decade since Usopp dod anything". However, that's real world time. In the narrative, they do Dressrosa in a day, spend 1-2 days on Zou, 3-4 days on Whole Cake, about a month in wano, 2-ish days on Egghead. This means that, in the story, it has been 37 or 39 days, give or take. And it's not like Usopp is the only one who didn't develop in that relatively short span of time since the Monster Trio occupies the majority of fights. -- But let's say that's not their argument. Let's say their argument is that Usopp is still a cowards. Okay? So are Nami and Chopper. "But it's his dream". Okay? Which Straw Hat has already achieved their dream? -- Also, and this is purely just my speculation based on experiences with anime fans in general, Usopp is a man and is ineligible for gooning by the anime fanbase. If Usopp were a girl, I believe nobody would have anything to say. This is only me half-joking. -- And, finally, as another complete opinion, people are most like Usopp and they hate that. People want to believe that they are the Luffy, Sanji, or Zoro, but Usopp is the most normal, the most like the average fan. And nobody likes being made to feel like the screen is pointing at them.

Usopp is doing his best and he's definitely gotten stronger but people have to understand his role on the crew is support. he's a sniper so he fights from a distance he us also an inventor and filled most of the roles on the ship that other members later filled such as barber, carpenter, etc. His strength isnt like the others but to me if you dont like usopp I can only take it as you're the type of person who yells at your healer in my matches.

idk why people hate usopp without usopp one piece changes differently. they would of never met sanji because usopp was messing with the going merry cannons which made them find the baratie so there would be no monster trio. Usopp was also the only one who could fix the merry until they met franky so without usopp the merry would of gave out sooner Usopp also made the clima act for nami to fight in battle so if she didnt have it she be useless in fights. And robin would of crossed the gates of justice and would of never been seen again cause usopp was able to hit spadman from a far. the crew would of also lost at thriller bark cause of perona no matter what i can keep going but Usopp is very important character he may not be a strong figher but he a awesome support crewmate

no hate for usopp here, but I think after brook was introduced, all of the comic relief went to him and that just left usopp with the "coward" thing, and they cranked it up, just like sanjis pervert gag and chopper being the mascot. I think a lot of characters became afterthoughts for oda and he hasn't been focused on them as the world has continuously grown bigger
