Auctions, thrift stores, discount return centers, marketplace, Facebook yard sale pages (you can even ask if anyone is selling what your looking for), yardsales, and put a price watch on Amazon to get notified if the item you want goes on sale.

I buy alot of stuff on auctions. I have found if it said "appears new" it's most likely used still. alot of time the item is a different brand because they do their best to find it online but can't always, the outer packaging is usually beat up so not great for gifts, the prices they say it's with is always way higher. that being said you can get alot of really great stuff. know it's more than likely used. really look closely at the pictures. it's a risk always. pick an auction that has a return policy. realize the 7 day return policy is usually the day you won the auction, not the day you pick it up. bring a box cutter and open the packages right in the parking lot. I have had to return multiple items that were not as described.
