The best part is they don’t have the accountability or insight or maturity to process their self-hatred, so they destroy innocent people that like themselves and then disappear to avoid the fallout. Maybe they’re right - maybe they’re not good enough.

(A lot of) avoidants think theyre so unworthy that pulling away couldn’t possibly hurt anyone because they don’t matter to begin with. They have no worth so neither does their absence. As an anxious you have to acknowledge “although they weren’t trying to hurt me, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s not healthy me to be in a relationship with someone who disregulates my nervous system.” In other words: not having bad intentions isn’t the be-all end-all.

People really don’t understand the difference between avoidant attachment and narcissism. I see this all the time under literally every video about avoidants.

It’s not just painful, it was one of the most traumatic things I ever had to go through and no amount of “I don’t feel worthy” is ever going to explain away the damage she did. I know avoidants have this usually from their own trauma; but, while you’re not to be blamed for your trauma, you are responsible for how you let it affect those around you. The only way for them to heal is to recognize and actually do the work. The catch 22 is that a vast majority of avoidants will never do the work and would rather just keep hurting people.

The thing is, i don’t even think I’m important enough to people to have any sort of impact on people that i could hurt them… if that makes sense?

Yep. I’ll 100% leave it to the experts. My experience with many avoidants, they’re just narcissists in training.

When an avoidant person lacks values an morality their pathological behavior becomes a narcissistic disorder.. you will recognize it when they cheat, when they push you away with humiliation and so on :/

Where as the fearful avoidant avoids ownership of their own emotions. The studies from Cambridge university and associated partners shows the DA is not narcissistic however presents in a similar way, their intentions are not malicious. The FA however can be narcissistic. DM me for the actual science.

nobody thinks they're good enough. especially narcissists. and that is exactly why being with an avoidant is very much about that person too. it's not an accident, relationships mirror us. both sides typically have deep self esteem issues, from the same fundamental wounds - and both avoid those wounds, just through different coping mechanisms.
