7 years ago I bought a 3,300 square ft, custom built, brick house, my mortgage was 2k per month, then I got divorced. 4 years ago I bought a 1,500 square ft dr Horton POS, my mortgage is 2,100 per month. I make 3x what I made 7 years ago. The house I bought 7 years ago is on Zillow for an estimated 750k… I bought for 340k …. That’s not normal appreciation… that’s a broken market

I mean, our city is BOOMING with new builds. so so so so so many. I just bought my first house because of it. 2026 4 bed 2 bath 230k. not bad at all

Reminder there was like 5 times the amount of foreclosures during the 08 crash, and prices didn’t hit rock bottom until 2010-2011, so we have a far way to go, prices will stay inflated esp due interest rates. Buyers market opens deals/price negotiation, but the market as a whole isn’t “crashing” for a good while

my neighbor bought his home 8 years for under $100,000 he's was trying to sell it recently at near $300,000. I guess he could have owed $ on the loan maybe he took out an equity loan I don't know but it's in foreclosure now and someone's going to get it for far less and he could have had that money. price to sell and don't be greedy.
