I went the natural way first for my areata, and it did make me get healthy and I did end up losing some weight and I was happy with the result of what happened physically but my hair was unmoving. I ended up just getting the steroid needles in my spots and it helped a lot, I also derma rolled and used Rogaine and then I slowly got myself off of Rogaine. I was offered the pills, but I was far too scared because I already have another autoimmune disease, so I just didn’t wanna mess with that. My hair did grow back, but it took a year. 💕 just remember to be kind to yourself. You truly do deserve to give yourself some grace and I definitely know the pain of looking at those spots. You are more than your hair and I pray it comes back💕

i relate to you so much, queen. so sad to see girls with our hair type taking care of it, wearing it out and not being able to participate. i am so ashamed of my alopecia aerata but seeing girls like you, showing what they are going through makes me feel good because it’s not our fault! i truly believe that it gets better, i must stay hopeful. we must stay hopeful. you are so beautiful, your hair does not change that. wishing us full recovery. ❤️

I’m on my second medication because the first one did not work I’m praying just like you that we can get what we need to get better so that we can get our confidence back. i have androgenic alopecia and have been trying everything to no avail. My hair just won't grow. The only reason why I am not distraught all the time is bc I am medicated 😅

it's gonna take a year or so,,I started getting alopecia like 3 years ago,went to very expensive dermatologists but it really wasn't getting better.. so I decided to do my own research and see what works and doesn't, just put your hair in twists or braids and have a cap on if you need to leave the house ,wash twice or once a week,avoid oiling your scalp maybe just oil after washing...deep condition every week or washdays..protein treatment every 4thweek...use a ketoconazole shampoo..trust me this will work with time.. also avoid tension completely, trust me

I definitely understand. I go through this too. It doesn't get better it's frustrating and you feel alone and confused. But this past summer I learned that taking that sadness and making something out of it. Transmutting it into something creative that will also make you happy. Talking, making art, dance, etc.

I’m 3 years into alopecia areata and it’s so hard I’m starting baricitinib in 7 weeks and I’m praying it works this is the first jak inhibitor I’m trying but I was previously on ciclosporin and I’m currently on methotrexate, and I really hope your immunosuppressant works for you, if you look up results from the immunosuppressant it might give you some hope ♥️
