Girl, I need your professional advice. I have a newish car that I scraped the entire passenger side of which meant both passenger doors needed to be replaced. The shop we took it too then painted the doors the same color hitch apparently is a “premium” color and my insurance is saying they won’t pay for that, that the shop is overcharging. The paint has been done painted, it can’t be unpainted. So now I’m stuck with no car unless I pay the difference of $1500. What is my recourse here, pay the difference and sue the shop? Report my insurance to the state or whatever? All I know is that I am stuck in the middle and my car is held hostage and I am extremely upset.

Very insightful for a new leader. You hit all of the major points. Also employees need to know that being a leader does t mean you know more that an employee In fact you may not know more than a seasoned employee. It's about leading, strategy, conflict resolution, coaching, etc. a good manager is a leader, not a "manager"

Personally I'm a fan of "Best idea wins!" it doesn't matter who suggested it but if it's legal, possible and achieves the end result then do it. This approach allows people to suggest things that improve things like efficiency and quality of work which is a great way to encourage people to do their best work.
