@leahshomestead: Everyone keeps talking about which rabbit will GROW faster… but what if they actually TASTE different too? 👀🐇 One rabbit is being raised on pellets and the other primarily on fresh greens. At processing time, we’re comparing weight, meat yield, body condition AND doing a blind taste test. Same recipe, same seasoning, same cooking method. Curious what is the taste? Is it greasy like duck - does it have a distinct taste like fish has?? Easy to cook can you do ground meat like for tacos??

We've done mostly weeds (bind weed, Bermuda grass, sunflower, domestic morning glory, hickory, plantain, bird's foot treefoil, dandelion, hollyhock, mallow, apple tree pruning (favorite) mulberry bush, trumpet vine (sort of), comfrey, various grasses, sow thistle, kochia (a little), carrot tops and root, apple for treat (sparingly), yarrow (a little), fennel leaves etc, wilted cottonwood leaves, rose bush leaves, etc. Our rabbits don't grow as fast others. Tastes like chicken.

I don’t think it would be noticeable. It would mostly depend on the ingredients in the pellets tho.

The one on greens will not be a true factor. For a good control you should have had at least 3 on greens. The one may not grow due to genetics.

make sure to do a triangle test! three options, not just two. Have two be the same and then one different. That will give a much better result!

as a guess I would say the pellet fed rabbits you be heavier with more meat, but the taste would go to the greens fed one.

Cook a portion of the meat with nothing but salt to get a real taste difference

make sure that when you compare you try 2 different cuts from each :0 its also probably nice if you try them with minimal seasoning perhaps
