@cbsnews: “The whole world could learn a lot from her.” Kim Aris, the son of Myanmar’s former leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, says his mother remains a “bargaining chip” for Myanmar’s military, which has held her since seizing power in a 2021 coup. The release of new photos showing Suu Kyi alive after years without public contact has also put her complicated legacy back in the spotlight, including her handling of the military’s crackdown on the Rohingya Muslim minority. Aris rejects criticism that his mother enabled the military to commit ethnic cleansing, telling CBS News’ Ramy Inocencio that she was never in control of its forces and that the military ultimately worked to undermine her. Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize winner once celebrated as a global symbol of democracy, is serving a nearly 19-year sentence. #military #myanmar #china #democracy #nobel

They were jealous because she won the Nobel peace prize. You don’t get awarded that for no reason.

I wonder how they are liking Min Aung Hlaing’s non-genocide actions now 😑. Easy to blame a civilian leader who held shared power for 4 years, but cant say anything to Than Shwe’s 40 year regime. Military controls everything and she was trying her best to get us out of this shit hole. And we fell even harder now. Poorest country in SEA.

How are rohingya a minority when they never existed in the history of Myanmar but were just illegal immigrants that even now malaysia is having to deal with. Look at all first world countries, which country has actually accepted illegal immigrants just look at the USA right now they are literally using more brutality to deport illegal immigrants and even legal immigrants.
