Vets almost always suggest euthanasia to paralized dogs sadly. Meantime there are thousands of dogs on wheels living a great life. It is hard in the begining, but then you get into a routine. Three vets suggested euthanasia for our dog Maia, but so glad her rescue got multiple opinions and vet #4 fought for her. 11 years later she is the happiest dog, living her best life🥰🥰

It’s so sad but also sometimes letting go is the most loving thing to do. I hope the next weeks will bring improvement but if not I’m so greatfull to you for showing him love and helping him on to his next adventure in a kind humane way.

For those suggesting a wheel chair, having taken care of two dogs with degenerative myelopathy, it’s not the fix you think it is. It’s not like a person using a wheel chair. They can’t sit or lie down when they want, mine weren’t able to go potty in it. It requires a bit of work to get them in and out of it. One dog got used to it and got a bit of exercise with it, the other hated it and never got used to it.

As a small (in size) dog rescue that deals with paralyzed dogs, we get the dogs a wheelchair. Is that an option? We also have found a dehydrated carrot food add in that makes poo solid so it gets rid of the irritation from loose poo. Dogs can live happily and paralyzed. 🩷

Even if RuPaul does not improve and difficult decisions have to be made… he has been shown love and given a fighting chance which is more than what he had before he found his way to you.
