if I, as a guy, don't want to date a girl who has a body count of five people, that in itself is not necessarily a terrible thing. if I keep to myself, date who I do want to date, and just live life, everything is fine. BUT if I then go on to say that I don't want to date a girl who has a body count of five people because she's riddled with STDs, disgusting, immoral, is a slut and can't be nice and proper, I am now an asshole. because my reasoning, vocal reasoning by the way, behind why I don't want to do that is just rude and mean and isn't even true necessarily. if I then go on to say that I like to sleep around and my body count is five as well but if my girl has that past, that's disgusting because men should be able to sleep with multiple people but a woman should stay pure, I'm now not only rude I am now being misogynistic or sexist. because now I'm saying that I don't like it because as a woman she shouldn't be doing that. the same thing applies to bi people. it's so not hard to understand.

this isn't about holding people accountable or labeling anybody for me or.changing amyones preferences. that's just a very good byproduct of stopping harmful rhetoric so straight women or anyone else who holds these beliefs can unpack them and be the best allies they can be and to make marginalized people a little more safe and comfortable existing.

Having a sexual preference is not rooted in biphobia, I believe that this discourse would be a whole different situation if lesbianism wasn’t fetishized, if men felt the same way about women, kissing each other as women feel about men kissing each other, other than everybody would have the same opinion that it’s OK to have a preference
