Sounds like a lot of other socialist countries who pay about that same amount in taxes, but also get more benefits than Canada

Brookfield under Mark Carney’s as chair ~2020–early 2025 has been repeatedly described as one of Canada’s largest or top corporate tax avoiders, primarily through legal use of offshore structures in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and similar jurisdictions.

How does this happen? Canada thinks we need them? California has more people than all of Canada! We do not need Canada.

I lived and worked in Canada, Toronto area, and found your wealthier set traveled outside of Canada for health care. My ex father-in-law who practiced in New York had tons of Canadian patients. They all had the same story, it may be Universal but you wait forever to be treated. And everything was so expensive there U moved back to the USA. Frankly, I do not understand how you guys are surviving.

I have to wonder about how bad Canada really is. So many Canadians have second homes in America. They seem to have ample money at all times. I have a Canadian friend that’s in his 50s a contractor and he’s retired has a beautiful new big home in Canada and a new home in Florida. Big beautiful boat etc. I’ve worked in the states my entire life. Typically way more hrs than normal people. I’m also a contractor. I’m 65 years old I still work everyday. I have a small home in NH and an old restored house in Florida. A boat etc. But I can’t stop working if I want to continue my lifestyle. And this story holds true with many Canadians I have met. So somebody make me understand how Canadians have it so bad please because I don’t see it that way

Mr. Sir To You :
I never understood why Canadian fuel prices are just so sky high. Love Canada been there about half a dozen times. If you’re from the American side, you see that $1.40 At the gas station and then you realize it’s per liter. For those of you from the states, not familiar with the metric system that is 3.785 L per gallon $1.45x3.79 liters= $5.50/ gallon!!!! Gas by me in the United States right now is about $3.73 per gallon. Normally the spread is even higher than that, though. It is still almost 2 dollars per gallon more in Canada for regular unleaded than it is at least in the Midwest here.
