How to Train Your Dragon is genuinely such a good movie because it’s way more than just a story about dragons and Vikings. Hiccup starts off as someone who doesn’t really fit in with the Viking way of life, especially because his community believes dragons are dangerous enemies, but instead of following what everyone else believes, he chooses to understand them. His relationship with Toothless is what makes the movie so special because their friendship develops through trust rather than words, showing that two completely different beings can still understand and care about each other. The movie also has amazing character development, especially with Hiccup, who grows from an insecure and misunderstood kid into someone brave enough to stand up for what he believes is right. Toothless is also an incredible character because he isn’t just a cool dragon; he has his own personality, emotions, curiosity, and loyalty, which makes the audience become attached to him. The animation is beautiful, especially the flying scenes, which make the world feel huge and adventurous, while the music adds even more emotion to the important moments. What makes How to Train Your Dragon even better is that it doesn’t make courage mean being the strongest or most powerful person in the room. Instead, it shows that sometimes real courage means questioning what everyone else believes and having the confidence to choose a different path.
