100 % my friend had told me about the kabbaula and at that time i was still learning but I had a strong suspicion this show had correlation even though the kabbaula looks a bit different in the show the structures the same.

the Creator basically had to say that it wasn't inspired by you know religious things because of some a controversy in Japan at the time where I believe it was a student or some other youth basically carried out these violent crimes and said that they were inspired by some other religious you know iconography motivation symbolism type of thing

1. I don't ship Shinji with anyone 2. The last time I watched Eva was back in 2001 and I only recall being mad about the ending, I have been meaning to rewatch and agree it's a very depressing anime 3. Hilarious coincidence since you've also been playing some Final Fantasy that Naoki Yoshida (YoshiP) the FFXIV producer just announced this year we are getting a collaboration with Neon Genesis Evangellion for the Evercold expansion (24-man casual raid series) so next year I get to see if my Warrior of Light gets told to "get in the suit"

anno and the other creators just said that they did it because it looked cool because: 1 - they got tired of people asking what the symbolism meant, and 2 - anno hated his fans because the fans hated the original ending and people trashed the gainax studio when it shut down after the original series ended
